Description
Stinging Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica) is a high-quality herb with a pleasantly herbaceous taste with a slight bitterness and a faint herbaceous aroma. Nettle is used as a rejuvenating wellness tea, in some foods and as a ingredient in shampoos, hair rinses and skin care products. The fresh leaves irritate the skin, but the “stinging” sensation isn’t present in the dried herb.
Directions
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 2 tsp. herb. Cover and steep 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately.
Suggested Uses
In addition to its use as a wellness tea, nettle is popular in shampoos, hair rinses and some skin care products.
